Events Programme: September 2012 3^rd ROGER REYNOLDS Hon FRPS FBPPA FBPE APAGB – TRAVELS Roger is one of the most prolific photographers in the UK and has been involved in photography for thirty years and today is engaged in professional travel photography. Roger was President of the Royal Photographic Society from 2003 – 2005 and is currently the chairman of the Travel Distinctions Panel of The Society. Website here. 4^th TECHNIQUES TUESDAY 10^th PHIL MALPAS – FINDING THE PICTURE Phil Malpas is a photographer, author and educator based in Swindon. He is a regular tour leader for Light and Land (having completed over 50 tours and workshops in various parts of the world) and co-hosts the “On Location” series for Outdoor Photography magazine on a monthly basis. Phil has published a number of books, including the recent “Finding the Picture” – the contents of which are expanded upon in this lecture. Using Large Format, DSLR and compact cameras, Phil describes his work as “Location Photography” i.e. a broad mixture of landscape and travel. Comes highly recommended. Website here. 17^th PETER CAIRNS – NEW FRONTIERS Peter’s latest show New Frontiers is a spectacular AV presentation combining still imagery, video and music. But more than that, it’s a journey, an odyssey. As one of Europe’s leading wildlife and conservation photographers, he reveals not only some of the most memorable encounters from ten years as a working professional, but how those encounters have shaped his thoughts about our own changing relationship with the natural world.
